Part Time Firefighter/EMT, Salary: ($14.00/HR)
Nature of position(s): Employees will be responsible for staffing Basic Life Support Ambulances and Fire Apparatus. Employees will also as needed provide various maintenance, housekeeping and administrative tasks. Number of Positions (To be determined)
Hours of work: Various (12 / 24) Hour shifts. The applicants for these positions must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Non-member of the Odessa Fire Company
2. Twenty-one (21) years of age
3. High school graduate or GED equivalent
4. Certified NREMT-B with two (2) years’ experience
5. Healthcare Provider CPR and AED Certification
6. Possess a Delaware non-CDL operator’s license and Emergency vehicle operator’s license with a certified current copy of a Department Of Motor Vehicle Driving Record to accompany application.
7. Copy of Current Criminal Background Check to accompany application.
8. Have the Delaware State Fire Schools or the equivalent of Pump school, Basic Firefighting Skills, Structural Firefighting Skills, Crew Leader, Vehicle Rescue, Hazmat Response Skills, and Water Rescue I & II. Proof of training required.
9. Successfully complete a designated physical examination
10. Basic Computer Skills
11. If hired by the Odessa Fire Company, all employees are subject to random drug screening as to comply with the companies substance abuse policy
