On November 24th, the OFC along with other companies was alerted at 0514hrs to a working alarm in the neighborhood of Odessa Chase. At 0516hrs 24-3 went responding and medic 5b arrived on scene and found fire showing from the residence at 17 Olde Dutch Drive. Captain Lynch and FF Eckrich led off with a 1 3/4" and knocked the fire down and proceeded to the second floor of the residence. At this time bulk of the fire was in the attic as other crews arrived on scene units worked to extinguish the fire. The fire was later placed under control at 0601hrs and units remained on scene working. Units from stations 4/24 (Odessa), 29 (Port Penn) 27 (Volunteer Hose), 26 (Townsend), 44 (Smyrna) all responded to assist at the scene. Also New Castle County and the State Fire Marshall office are investigating the fire.
